We're delighted to share that Citizens House has been recognised once again, taking home the Planning Award for Affordable Housing last night!
Citizens House is the first purpose-built Community Land Trust (CLT) project in London. It provides 11 homes for local residents at prices linked to local wages, ensuring that essential members of the community can remain in the neighbourhoods they call home.
This award is a testament to the power of community-led planning. The success of Citizens House is a result of true collaboration – from the initial campaign by Lewisham Citizens to the active involvement of local residents in the co-design process. This award celebrates the power of community voices shaping the places they live. We are passionate about creating spaces that foster social interaction, just like the co-designed public "piazza" at Citizens House.
And of course, this project wouldn't have been possible without the incredible vision and dedication of London CLT. We work with purpose-led clients who truly understand the value of community-led housing, and are so proud for the opportunity to have partnered with them on this project.
Thank you to the Planning Awards for this recognition, and congratulations to everyone involved in Citizens House!
